Where Do I fish a new stream?
Whenever you are looking to fish on a new stream here is where you begin. First, you contact the streams stocking program to see what time of year the stream is stocked. Try to find out the exact stocking locations on the stream. Since trout typically move downstream when they are stocked, start at the stocking point and move you way downstream. Make a point to look for deep holes where the trout would like to stay. Sometimes all the fish stocked in one spot will go several miles downstream until they find the hole that they want. The amazing thing is that year after year the stocked fish will return to the same holes. The important thing to remember is keep moving downstream until you find fish, usually where there is one there is more.
